District Governor’s Contest

1 May 2011 to 30 April 2012

District 18-D Club Excellence Awards

Competition among Lions Clubs will start May 1st, 2011 and end April 30th, 2012.  It will include all Lions Clubs in District 18-D.  The contest will work as follows: Each club will get 1 Service Hour Point for every service hour that each member of the Lions Club works.  For example, three members of a Lions Club do vision screening  for three hours and one member arranged for the vision equipment, picked it up, and returned it for a total of 1 hour. The club total for that event is 10 hours.  You may include all club service projects, including fundraisers for charity as long as the members are identified as Lions during the service.  The time during Board and committee meetings in which plans are made for service and fundraising for charity can also be counted as can shopping online or in person for materials or equipment for the service project or fundraiser.  Count also the time spent by members of the club in preparing publicity for the event.   At the end of the year all the hours will be totaled and then divided by the number of members that your club had on your MMR on May 1st, 2012.

The top three (3) Lions Clubs having the highest percentage total in the competition will receive a Club Excellence Banner patches at the State Convention District Breakfast.  For clubs to receive credit, all information must be submitted to the Cabinet Secretary monthly, the information must be submitted no later than the 10th of each month.
